Dallas Lutheran School provides a quality Christ-centered education in an academic, spiritual and social environment which prepares each student for a productive Christian life.
RESPONSIBLE TO: Executive Director
RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for initiating, planning, managing, completing, and evaluating the fund-raising program.
  • Five years of directly related fund raising experience (non-profit school setting is preferred).
  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field. (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both orally and in writing.
  • The ability to work with a wide range of people.
  • Results oriented, flexibility, professional appearance, willingness and an attitude conducive to leadership.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • A confessing Christian actively practicing their faith in their daily life. An active member of a Christian congregation.
  • Develop and execute strategic fundraising plan including capital campaign.
  • Develop and manage fundraising events including Capital Campaign, Annual Fund, and Golf Tournament.
  • Develop and manage planned giving and cultivate relationships with attorneys, trust officers, financial planners and other estate planning professionals.
  • Develop and manage grant proposals.
  • Develop and execute strategies to identify, research, cultivate and solicit new donor relationships.
  • Develop and manage annual giving day participation.
  • Secure corporate underwriting, cash sponsorships, in-kind donations and support for identified signature and leadership events.
  • Analyze internal and external trends, demographics, and competition for use in development of event plans and strategies for current and potential fundraising campaigns.
  • Plan and execute a series of donor and prospect-focused events, including donor and professional seminars and donor recognition events.
  • Coordinate with the DLS Board of Directors to encourage donor participation at the Board level and to enhance Board involvement in fundraising opportunities. * Create and manage annual development budget.
  • Provide monthly financial information and reports to the Business Office, Executive Director and Development Committee.
  • Assist DLS Parent Teacher Fellowship in fundraising events including Annual Gala.
  • Serves as a significant net worker and collaborator in the community.
  • Keeps informed of current tax laws and rulings that affect charitable giving; keeps informed to ensure current information on giving is available and accurate.
  • Administers development services such as: acknowledgments and donor history files/archive, direct mailing, recognition of donations, and designing and implementing recognition procedures and events.
  • Develops meetings, programs and events held at or sponsored by Dallas Lutheran School.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of an effective communication plan to tell Dallas Lutheran School’s story to the community.
  • Other duties as assigned.
WORK SCHEDULE: Full time including evenings and weekends as assigned. Exempt Position.
