Boys Weight Classes: 125, 135, 145, 155, 165, 175, 185, 195, 210, 225, 250, Unlimited
Boys  Divisions: Lightweight, Middleweight, and Heavyweight
Girls Weight Classes: 115, 135, 155, Unlimited
Girls Divisions: Lightweight and Heavyweight

Team scoring: The Team Score will be derived by taking a school's top four athlete totals from each division and adding them together.  That is a total of 12 athletes for boys and 8 for girls.  If a school doesn't have four athletes in a division the total will only contain the athletes they do have.  It is the Total from four athletes, not your four best scores in each lift.

Individual scoring: Individual scores are done for each of the three lifts and for the individual's total.  There are then four categories an individual can medal.

Team awards:  A trophy will be given to the top three teams in both Boys and Girls as tabulated by Team Scoring.  These trophies will be presented to the teams at the Awards Recognition following the completion of the last lifters.

Individual awards: A medal will be awarded to each athlete that places in the top 3 of their own weight class in any of the 3 power lifts or if they placed in the top five of the Total.  These medals will be presented at the culmination of the meet.

Lift Rules

  • Parallel Squat:  Lifter must go to parallel from the bend in the hip to the top of the knee.  Coach in charge of lift will watch the bottom of the leg, hamstring, for parallel.  The lifter may ask for a call from the Coach in charge to verify parallel or may wait for the judge's call after bar is racked.  No touching of the legs with the arms, knees must be locked at the beginning of the lift and the completion of the lift.
  • Bench Press:  The bar must not be touched by a spotter after the bar is taken off the rack until the Coach in charge calls for it to be racked.  "Rack" command must be given before the bar is racked.  Butt must remain flat on Bench during the actual lift. Feet must remain in contact with the floor at all times during the lift.  The lifter may place something on floor to place their feet on if they cannot easily reach the floor.  The lift is not completed until the lifter has taken the bar from an arms locked out position to touching the chest and back to an arms locked position.
  • Deadlift:  Bar must move upward in continuous motion.  Lifter must wait for the down command.  Lifter must be upright at the completion of the lift with knees locked.  The lifter must be in locked out upright position at the completion of the lift.
