College Planning

College is a wonderful time to learn, grow and further prepare for a future of service to God and His people in any vocation of choice.

At DLS, we strive to challenge and prepare our students for the rigor of college, and to learn the value of maintaining a healthy balance between a career and life outside of work.

We encourage the formation of healthy habits, not only physical, but especially spiritual and academic. College can put study habits, faith habits, and even nutritional habits to the test. I take great pride in the college-readiness program at Dallas Lutheran School.

And we don't just talk the talk.

At Dallas Lutheran, college-readiness is one of our top priorities. And, our students graduate and go to college.

In 2024, our class of 41 graduates received over $9.2 million in scholarships and aid from 195 acceptances to 117 colleges, and our students are attending 27 colleges in 15 states and two countries.

2nd Annual College Bootcamp at DLS

Tuesday, August 6 thru Thursday, August 8

8 a.m. & 12 p.m. each day

We are pleased to announce our 2nd Annual College Boot Camp at DLS.

The College Bootcamp is only for students (rising seniors), but we will also host an optional one-hour session Thursday, August 8 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. for parents and guardians of the students that registered and attended College Bootcamp. The one-hour session with just the parents and guardians will be held in the Teams Room in the Alumni gymnasium.

This bootcamp will be a college intensive camp where we will walk the student through the Common App (line by line, word by word.)

We will cover the college essay and feature college admission experts who will speak to the group in question-and-answer panels with the college representatives. Plus, new this year we will include a panel on interviewing skills.

In addition, we will review strategic ways to research and keep track of colleges, and more.

This is a limited program of 35 open spots offered to DLS rising seniors and the public (rising seniors outside of DLS.)

The cost for currently enrolled DLS rising seniors is $275. The cost for non-DLS rising seniors is $375.

Please register and pay by the end of the day on Wednesday, July 31 to allow enough time to plan and prepare.
