FAQ
Campus Plan FAQs
What is the timeline for building construction?
We received approval of our building plans at a Special Meeting of members of our Lutheran Secondary Association of Dallas on Tuesday, January 30. We are now moving forward with our bank financing and will present it for approval in the coming weeks. If all goes as planned, we will begin construction this Spring 2024 with a Phase I completion date in Spring of 2025.
Will everything be built at the same time?
Construction will occur in phases to accommodate site logistics, funding, and school population, with the first phase primarily focused on replacing classroom and administrative space lost in the tornado.
What is the scope of the master campus plan?
The primary educational center is designed for 33,000 square feet, two stories, which will accommodate an enrollment of up to 250 students (depending upon room scheduling efficiency,) and assuming maximum of 20 students per classroom. The initial phase of the construction of this facility (Phase I), will support 250 students (classrooms, general purpose/core curriculum classes, Trapp media classroom, two art studios, five specialty classrooms, two science labs with prep area for chemistry, biology and physics, a computer lab, Talent Zone, Multipurpose room, Study Center includes stack and study area, a Computer Lab, "Lion's Den" gathering area, an Administrative Suite (storm shelter included,) new Courtyards, paving, parking, site lighting, landscaping, perimeter fencing and vehicular gates, Courtyard facing classrooms with covered interior corridors and a new monument sign, flagpole and landscaping near main campus entry.) Additional phases would include the reconstruction of our Athletic Complex which will give students baseball, football, and soccer fields along with a practice area for track & field. To complete the master campus plan, a separate 400-seat Chapel/Performing Arts Center will provide students with a 17,000 square-foot facility, which will be critical for their continued educational, artistic, and spiritual growth.
What are some of the key features of the new facility?
The new facilities will add 15 new classrooms, 10 general purpose/core curriculum classes, art studios, science labs and student study areas among others.
What new campus security features will be incorporated into the new facility?
Campus security is a very high priority for the overall campus improvement plan. While specific details have not been finalized at this point, features under consideration include perimeter fencing, controlled campus access, additional exterior lighting, a reinforced storm shelter, improved emergency vehicle access, and an integrated campus security management system with cameras, alarms, communication hardware and door access controls.
How much money is needed to complete the project?
The total cost is $28 million dollars for Phase 1. Although the first campaign will not cover projected costs of all three Phases, we are eager to see what the Lord provides through your generosity and support.
